Zomato set to share customer data with eateries, Swiggy may follow

Food delivery platform Zomato is in final discussions with the National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI) to share its customer data with restaurants, which could end a nearly-a-decade-long dispute.

NRAI has also started similar discussions with Zomato’s rival Swiggy, the association’s president Sagar Daryani said.

Zomato has begun rolling out a feature to take consent from customers to share their phone numbers with the restaurants “to directly receive marketing and promotional updates.”

NRAI had taken the matter to anti-trust regulator
