Zeekr’s Latest Europe-Wide EV Survey Signals Growing Consumer Trust in Chinese E-Mobility

Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand under China’s Geely Holding Group, is making significant strides in Europe’s competitive electric mobility landscape. The company’s latest commissioned survey, released on July 24, 2025, reveals a robust shift in European sentiment toward EV adoption and growing acceptance of Chinese automotive brands.

The research, conducted across more than 8,000 consumers in countries including Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the UK, and Switzerland, underscores a clear generational and regional tilt toward e-mobility. Notably, nearly 60% of respondents said they expect to own an EV by 2030, a steep rise from the 42% reported just this year.

Zeekr Positions Itself at the Heart of European E-Mobility

As one of China’s top EV innovators, Zeekr is capitalizing on cultural and technological shifts sweeping across Europe. The Nordics, in particular, are leading the charge: 62% of Swedish participants expressed intent to purchase an EV by 2027. This aligns well with Zeekr’s regional strategy, which includes R&D centers in Sweden and localized design initiatives, giving its products a “European soul.”

Moreover, Zeekr is positioning itself not just as a foreign entrant but as a collaborative brand that values co-creation and regional feedback. “By integrating consumer sentiment into our product development, we’re setting ourselves apart,” said Lothar Schupet, acting CEO of Zeekr Europe.

Changing Perceptions of Chinese EV Brands

One of the most striking revelations from the survey is the rapidly changing perception of Chinese carmakers. A notable 38% of consumers said they are now more open to buying a Chinese EV than they were a year ago. Among current EV drivers, that figure jumps to 53%, indicating strong recognition of China’s leadership in battery and charging tech.

The Zeekr name has become synonymous with innovation, reliability, and affordability. Its flagship models like the Zeekr 001, Zeekr X, and Zeekr 7X boast features such as up to 620km of range, ultra-fast charging from 10% to 80% in just over 10 minutes, and high-end interior tech—all starting at under €35,000.

Overcoming Barriers to Adoption

Despite the momentum, Zeekr and its peers still face familiar hurdles: charging infrastructure, vehicle cost, and range anxiety. However, the survey indicates that these barriers are less daunting than in previous years. For example, 42% of respondents said they’d be more likely to switch to EVs if models offered over 480km of range—criteria Zeekr already meets.

With increasing investments in 800V charging systems and the rapid expansion of fast-charging networks across Europe, these obstacles are quickly diminishing.

Why Zeekr Is Poised for Long-Term Success

Beyond performance, Zeekr offers compelling value. Standard features in the Zeekr 7X, such as a panoramic roof, Matrix LED headlights, and a 22kW onboard charger, come at no extra cost. This all-in-one approach not only appeals to tech-savvy younger buyers but also helps build trust among more conservative consumers.

Additionally, Zeekr’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and local market integration places it in a strong position to lead Europe’s EV transformation. With over 510,000 vehicles delivered globally since 2021, Zeekr is not just disrupting the market—it’s defining the future of mobility.

The Road Ahead

As consumer mindsets evolve and trust in Chinese innovation grows, Zeekr stands out as a brand to watch in the race toward electrified transport. With continued focus on R&D, customer experience, and cross-market relevance, the company is solidifying its role as a major player in Europe’s EV ecosystem.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
