You may soon be able to edit WhatsApp messages

Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature for its users. According to WaBetaInfo, an online platform that tracks new WhatsApp features, the company may soon allow its users to edit a sent message. The feature, which is likely to be called Edit Message, will be useful in removing errors when a user sends messages in a hurry.

The feature is currently being worked on. It was discovered in the WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.22.20.12. The WhatsApp Edit Message feature is likely to be included in a future update. The feature will be made available to beta testers first, prior to the official rollout. As of now, it is unknown how the feature will function. It is possible that WhatsApp will display the ‘Edited’ label next to such messages. Additionally, once a user clicks the send button, the ability to edit a message may be available for a limited time.
