Popular microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) was down for thousands of users across the globe. The site and apps seem to function normally for now.
The outage appears to have started around 3 pm, with Downdetector reporting nearly 2,500 complaints around 3.30 pm.
As things stand, going to X throws up the error message, “Oops. Something went wrong. But don’t worry — it’s not your fault.”
There is no official statement from the platform at the time of writing. We’ll keep our eyes peeled and keep you updated if the situation changes…
