Exits from Delaporte camp
Tatavarti is the fourth big departure from the ‘Delaporte camp’ since then.
In May, then chief operating officer (COO) Amit Choudhary and Anis Chenchah, the chief executive of APMEA (Asia Pacific, India, Middle East & Africa) Strategic Market Unit (SMU) resigned to pursue opportunities outside the organisation.
ET reported on August 10 that another senior executive who joined under Delaporte, Ajit Mahale, left the firm. He will be succeeded by Nanda Kishore, who has served the company for 30 years, as chief of delivery and operational excellence.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mahale had been chief delivery officer at Wipro for over 18 months. He has formerly been employed with IT firms Capgemini and GlobalLogic.

In December, Wipro saw its chief growth officer, Stephanie Trautman, stepping down from the position. The growth office was established three years prior by Wipro’s then new CEO Delaporte, to strategise the IT company’s approach to large deals, account development, partnerships and sales processes, as well as develop a blueprint for building strategic solutions for clients. Wipro’s digital and cloud head Barath Narayanan also resigned to join mid-sized peer Persistent Systems.Restructuring under Pallia
The IT major has been seeing major restructuring under the new CEO, who is insistent on using internal talent to strengthen the organisation. ET had reported on May 23 that within two months of taking over, Pallia promoted at least five insiders, including three veterans, to instil confidence in the team and stem the continuing exits.
This came after a period when Delaporte hired a lot of foreign citizens and expats at high salaries. Employees and observers who didn’t want to be named had told ET that under the former CEO, Paris was the nerve centre of the organisation and there was a disconnect with top management.
