Wipro Initiates Legal Action Against Former CFO, Jatin Dalal, and Former Senior Vice President, Mohd Haque

IT giant Wipro has taken legal action against its former Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jatin Dalal, in a civil court in Bengaluru. In response, Dalal has filed an application requesting the court to refer the matter to arbitration. The specific details of the lawsuit remain undisclosed, but both parties have presented their arguments. The next hearing is scheduled for January 3, during which the court will determine whether the matter should proceed to arbitration. Arbitration, an alternative dispute resolution method utilizing an arbitrator instead of a judicial court, may be employed if the employment contract specifies it, according to a report by Times of India.

In September, Cognizant Technology Solutions appointed Jatin Dalal as its CFO, a week after his resignation from Wipro, as reported by Mint. Dalal had been with Wipro since 2002 and assumed the role of CFO in 2015. His tenure at Wipro concluded on November 30, and Aparna Iyer was named as his successor.

In early December, Dalal filed an application under Section 8 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, which grants the judicial authority the power to direct parties to arbitration, as reported by TOI. This move by Dalal is the latest development in the legal dispute with Wipro.

Additionally, Wipro has filed a complaint against its former Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of Healthcare and Medical Devices for the Americas, Mohd Haque. The complaint alleges that Haque violated non-compete clauses by joining Cognizant as the SVP and Business Unit Head for life sciences. Wipro also accuses Haque of sharing confidential files from his personal Gmail account, breaching his employment contract, according to the report.

These legal actions mark a notable turn of events in the professional careers of Jatin Dalal and Mohd Haque, two prominent figures in the IT industry. The outcomes of these legal proceedings will likely have implications for both Wipro and Cognizant.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
