Online gaming platform WinZO filed a lawsuit against Google in the Delhi High Court for updating its Playstore Policy, which allows only daily fantasy sports (DFS) and rummy games to list and operate on its app store.
WinZO is a mobile-based gaming startup that collaborates with third-party developers to host games on its mobile app. With this lawsuit, WinZO essentially seeks to prevent tech behemoth Google from implementing the policy because it will harm the gaming startup’s market reputation. The problem was brought to light earlier this month when Google announced an update to its Playstore Policy that would allow DFS and rummy games to be listed on the app store as part of a year-long pilot project beginning on the 28th September 2022.
