Sony scrapped its $10 billion merger with Zee Entertainment due to financial terms and concerns. Sony alleged that Zee failed to meet financial requirements and lacked commercial prudence. Zee denied the allegations and called off the merger. The proposed merger aimed to create a media giant with over 90 channels.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it.
