Voot-owner Viacom18 won the media rights to the Women’s IPL for INR 951 crore

After winning the digital media rights to the men’s version of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a record-breaking INR 20,500 Cr, Reliance-owned Viacom18 has also won the consolidated media rights to the women’s version of the cricket tournament for INR 951 Cr for the 2023-27 season.

The owner of Voot bid INR 7.09 Cr per match for the women’s IPL. In comparison, the men’s IPL received a consolidated bid of INR 48,390 Cr for both digital and TV rights combined for the period xxx, translating to a per-match cost of INR 114 Cr, which is 16X higher than the women’s version. ESPNcricinfo reported that the INR 7.09 Cr per match value was calculated based on the assumption of 22 matches per season for the first three years, followed by 34 matches in each of the remaining two seasons.
