The US is set to enforce new regulations mandating that semiconductor companies produce as many chips domestically as they import. Any company unable to maintain a 1:1 production ratio could face hefty tariffs. This initiative is in line with President Trump’s call for increasing tariffs on imported semiconductors.
The U.S. is planning to ask chip companies to manufacture the same number of semiconductors domestically as their customers import from overseas producers, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it.
