Toprankers acquires The Lex Guru to expand legal test prep platform

On Thursday (July 6), Toprankers, a leading edtech platform, announced its acquisition of The Lex Guru, based in Indore, for an undisclosed amount. This marks the second acquisition by Toprankers this year, following its acquisition of career guidance platform ProBano in April.

The Lex Guru is an Indore-based legal test prep platform and represents Toprankers’ second law-related intellectual property, alongside its existing platform LegalEdge. The acquisition will enable Toprankers to expand its presence in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and other neighboring regions.

Gaurav Goel, Co-founder and CEO of Toprankers, expressed his excitement about the acquisition and the subsequent launch of Judiciary Gold’s Indore center. He emphasized the company’s commitment to providing top-quality coaching and resources for judiciary aspirants.

Dr. Samanvay Richhariya, Founder of The Lex Guru, shared his enthusiasm about joining forces with Toprankers. He emphasized that the acquisition would create remarkable opportunities for judiciary aspirants and strengthen their commitment to delivering comprehensive training and guidance for judiciary exams.

Founded in 2014 by Mehbub Hussain, Malay Sarkar, and Gaurav Goel, Toprankers offers a digital counseling and test preparation platform for various career paths, excluding engineering and medicine. The platform provides exam preparation for law, judiciary, management, design, and architecture exams at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

With a community of over 500,000 students, Toprankers has trained 25,000 learners through its online and offline courses. Last year, the company raised $4 million in a Series A funding round led by Sixth Sense Ventures. With the new funding, Toprankers plans to hire approximately 160 teaching and non-teaching staff in the next 12 months to support its growth and expansion plans.
