Researchers have analyzed the Android banking trojan SpyNote and discovered its various data collection capabilities. The malware disguises itself as an operating system update and tricks users into granting it permissions, allowing it to steal SMS and bank data. It is primarily distributed through SMS phishing campaigns and uses deceptive attack chains to install the app.
