Since the beginning of the year, the Indian government has given a big push to AI efforts in the country. These have coincided with the launch of DeepSeek, which set an example for how powerful models can be built with very little. The government has allocated close to Rs 10,000 crore under the IndiaAI mission, which includes subsidies for GPUs and incentives for building indigenous AI models among other efforts.
