Technology company Wipro rejigs growth organisation; CGO Stephanie Trautman resigns

Indian technology company Wipro, which also has global operations, has announced significant changes within its Chief Growth Office (CGO).

The company said Stephanie Trautman, the Chief Growth Officer, will be stepping down from her role effective December 31, 2023. The development is part of Wipro’s ongoing transformation and restructuring efforts.

Who is Stephanie Trautman?

Trautman, based in the United States, joined Wipro three years ago and has been a key figure in leading the company’s growth strategies.

In Trautman’s resignation letter attached with the exchange filing, she said that she has decided to pursue her “professional and personal goals outside of Wipro”. Prior to joining Wipro, Trautman worked at Accenture for seven years, where she held various leadership positions. Before Accenture, she was a vice president at CSC (now DXC).

What was the role of the Chief Growth Officer?

Under Trautman’s leadership, the Chief Growth Office was instrumental in reimagining Wipro’s approach to large deals, account development, partnerships, and sales processes. CEO Thierry Delaporte highlighted the CGO’s role in achieving a new level of consistency in large deal bookings. The office was established to develop strategic solutions for clients and has built a strong foundation over the past three years.

Strategic Shifts and Integration

Recently, Wipro began integrating the Strategic Pursuits team, which was under the CGO, into its Strategic Market Units (SMUs). With this integration, the company aimed to enhance its ability to uncover new growth opportunities, improve speed to market, and increase the success rate in deal wins.

“Over the past few months, we have started integrating the Strategic Pursuits team, formerly under the CGO, into our Strategic Market Units (SMUs),” Delaporte said in a statement.

“Embedding this function within the SMUs allows us to build on the processes and approaches developed by the CGO and bring this experienced team closer to clients and on-the-ground sales teams,” he said. “This integrated approach will help us uncover new growth opportunities, enhance our speed to market as well as success rate in deal wins.”

Delaporte emphasized that embedding this function within the SMUs would leverage the processes and approaches developed by the CGO, bringing the team closer to clients and sales teams on the ground.

Recent resignation at Wipro

Trautman’s resignation follows the departure of several senior leaders from Wipro in 2023, including Chief Financial Officer Jatin Dalal. The series of top-level exits comes at a challenging time for Wipro, as the company faces a demanding business environment and has seen a decline in revenue for three consecutive quarters.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
