Tech Mahindra Launches Populii: A Crowdsourcing Platform for Gig Workers and Enterprises

Tech Mahindra, a prominent provider of digital transformation and business re-engineering solutions, has unveiled Populii, a crowdsourcing platform designed to facilitate collaboration between gig workers and leading organizations. Populii enables gig workers to engage in micro jobs involving human-in-the-loop services, providing flexible work opportunities while offering businesses reliable data for building competitive AI algorithms.

The platform expands opportunities for gig job seekers in data management, microtasks, and user studies across various industries. Gig jobs available on Populii encompass content rating, data collection, data transcription, and data annotation for diverse data types. The platform aims to assist enterprises in developing production-grade machine-learning models by leveraging a qualified workforce through flexible crowd delivery models.

Populii operates on three customer-centric principles: Advise, Annotate, and Acquire, streamlining the process for enterprises:

**Advise:** Tech Mahindra experts with specialized skills and domain knowledge across industry verticals will provide guidance.
**Annotation:** Faster annotation leveraging Tech Mahindra’s proven training models for high-quality machine-learning datasets.
**Acquisition:** The platform facilitates the acquisition of various data types, including images, text, video, and speech in over 80 languages.

Birendra Sen, Business Head of Business Process Services at Tech Mahindra, emphasized the platform’s role in connecting enterprises with skilled gig workers globally, facilitating the acceleration of AI solution creation, reducing costs, and boosting productivity. Populii aims to become a go-to platform for both gig workers and enterprises, fostering innovation and success in AI initiatives.

For gig workers, Populii serves as a community to find flexible gig jobs that align with their schedules, enable upskilling, and ensure timely payments. Meanwhile, for enterprises, the platform offers rich and accurate data aligned with their business objectives. Populii is built on the foundation of DataMime, acquired by Tech Mahindra in 2020, providing customizable workflows on a multitenant-secured architecture.

The development of Populii aligns with Tech Mahindra’s NXT.NOWTM framework, focusing on enhancing the ‘Human Centric Experience’ by investing in emerging technologies and solutions for digital transformation that meet evolving customer needs.
