Spotify wants to charge users for separate ‘Play’ and ‘Shuffle’ buttons

Spotify is updating its app to address a long-standing user complaint about music playback, but customers will have to pay for the update.

The company announced today that it will finally include a separate Play Button and a Shuffle Button at the top of album playlists to make it easier to listen to music the way you want. This will replace the previous combined button, which was inconsistent across platforms and frustrating to use. Streamers may be disappointed, however, to learn that what should be an app update to improve usability is being sold to them as a reason to upgrade to Spotify’s paid tier, the company says the new button is only available to Spotify Premium subscribers.

He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
