Swedish audio streaming application According to a Reddit post, Spotify may finally be launching a HiFi streaming plan, which it promised more than a year ago.
Reddit user u/nearlymind shared a screenshot from the app in which they were asked if they wanted to upgrade to Spotify Platinum for $19.99 within the next 30 days. The user stated that they were prompted to complete the survey after cancelling their Spotify Premium subscription in favour of Apple Music. Spotify had previously announced the launch of a HiFi plan in select markets. HiFi, or high fidelity audio, provides the listener with lossless music. Apple Music already offers HiFi audio to its users for free. Users who commented on the original post by u/nearlymind were not pleased with Spotify’s ‘Platinum’ plan’s price of nearly $20.
