The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X launched to strong demand and sold out quickly in many regions. Early reviews were positive (including our own Xbox Ally X review), and it looked like Xbox had a strong first attempt at a handheld on its hands.
But once people spent more time with the device, a familiar complaint surfaced. Windows was holding it back.
Another week, another new wave of games launching across the Xbox Store. This week, one of the biggest games of the year finally arrives, with Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. This new title is again led by Treyarch and Raven, with a co-op campaign, expanded Zombies mode, and more. ARC Raiders is off to a massive start, peaking at well over 260,000 players on release day. The game would go on to eclipse the 350,000 player mark only days later that weekend. Usually, that’s the end of it, but not for ARC Raiders. Not only did ARC Raiders break that record on Friday, but also on Saturday and Sunday.
