Grand Theft Auto 6’s highly anticipated release has been pushed back from Fall 2025 to May 26, 2026, surprising many fans. However, reports suggest that some Rockstar Games employees weren’t surprised, viewing the initial timeframe as overly optimistic.
Despite Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, maintaining that the game was on schedule for a 2025 launch, insiders allegedly felt there wasn’t “enough time” to properly develop and polish the game to meet Rockstar’s standards. This internal skepticism ultimately proved accurate, resulting in the official delay. The new release date provides Rockstar with additional time to ensure GTA 6 lives up to expectations.
