Relief for Paytm as Allahabad HC stays INR 1,081 crore GST demand

The Allahabad High Court (HC) has suspended the INR 1,081 Cr demand related to a Goods and Services Tax (GST) dispute, much to the relief of fintech giant Paytm.

On a petition submitted by Paytm, a bench consisting of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice JJ Munir issued the ruling earlier this month. The issue is whether giving Direct To Home (DTH) and mobile recharge coupons to customers in other states is considered intra-state supply or inter-state supply. Paytm claimed that the issue involved interstate supply, but the Center’s attorney argued otherwise. The INR 1,081 Cr. GST bill, which has since been stayed, was brought about by the confusion.

He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
