New WhatsApp Feature Allows 60-Second Video Messages, Learn How to Use It

WhatsApp, the leading messaging platform owned by Meta, has unveiled its latest feature, allowing users to send and receive short 60-second video messages seamlessly on the platform. With this new feature, users can record and share video messages in real-time without the need to attach video files, making communication more engaging and expressive.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced the launch of the new feature, emphasizing its potential to add a new dimension to WhatsApp conversations. “Video messages are a real-time way to respond to chats with whatever you want to say and show in 60 seconds,” WhatsApp stated in a recent blog post. “We think these will be a fun way to share moments with all the emotion that comes from video, whether it’s wishing someone a happy birthday, laughing at a joke, or bringing good news.”

The instant video messages on WhatsApp function similarly to voice messages, but with the added richness of video content. The feature will be gradually rolled out to all users, starting from July 27, over the following weeks.

To use WhatsApp’s 60-second video feature, follow these simple steps:

Tap to switch to video mode and hold to record the video.
Swipe up to lock the camera and take a hands-free video.
When a video is opened in a conversation, it automatically plays on silent, and pressing it will turn on the sound.

This new feature is set to enhance user engagement and foster more meaningful interactions among WhatsApp users. It offers a convenient way to convey emotions, reactions, and experiences through short video snippets, adding a personalized touch to conversations.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
