Meet Elon Musk’s 14th child, Seldon Lycurgus, with Punjabi heritage and a ‘heart of gold’

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has become a father once again. His longtime associate and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis announced the birth of their fourth child together, a son named Seldon Lycurgus. This marks Musk’s 14th child overall.

On 1 March, Zilis shared the news on X, writing, “Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much.”

Musk, known for keeping personal matters brief online, responded with a heart emoji.

Punjabi Roots Spark Interest

The birth announcement also reignited conversations about Zilis’s heritage. Born in Ontario, Canada, she has a Punjabi Indian mother and a Caucasian Canadian father. In a 2015 interview with People magazine, she remarked, “I pretty much turned out white — I just got the big eyes from the Punjabi side.”

Many social media users, particularly from India, were surprised to learn that four of Musk’s children have Indian roots through their mother.

A Career at the Forefront of Technology

Zilis is no stranger to the tech world. She graduated from Yale University in 2008 with degrees in economics and philosophy. Her career took off at IBM before she moved to Bloomberg Beta, where she specialised in machine intelligence. Later, she joined Tesla as a project director for the Autopilot team from 2017 to 2019. Currently, she serves as the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, a company Musk co-founded to develop brain-computer interface technology.

Her professional association with Musk has brought her into the public eye multiple times. In 2023, she accompanied him during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the United States, a visit that received significant media attention.

An Expanding Family

Musk and Zilis welcomed their first children, twins Azure and Strider, in 2021. In 2024, they had a daughter, Arcadia. Now, with the birth of Seldon Lycurgus, their growing family continues to capture public interest.

Musk has often spoken about his views on population growth, advocating for higher birth rates to ensure the survival and advancement of humanity. While his public focus remains on business, space exploration, and artificial intelligence, his ever-expanding family remains a topic of fascination for many.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
