Landlords keep suing Elon Musk’s Twitter over unpaid rent

More landlords are suing Twitter for unpaid rent, this time at the social media company’s headquarters in San Francisco and its UK offices—the latest indication that owner Elon Musk’s extreme cost-cutting strategy includes simply not paying the bills.

According to California court documents, Twitter is being sued for allegedly failing to pay rent for its headquarters. Meanwhile, the owner of the company’s central London headquarters has announced that it will sue the company for unpaid rent. Musk is cutting costs after his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter last year left the company liable for about $1 billion in annual interest payments. This month, Twitter was taken to court for failing to pay rent at another San Francisco office.
