LambdaTest funding: LambdaTest raises $38 million from Avataar Ventures, valuation hits $400 million

Mobile and web testing firm LambdaTest announced a $38 million funding in a new round led by growth-stage venture capital firm Avataar Ventures to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) offerings to enterprise users.Existing investors including Qualcomm Ventures also participated in the round.

The new funding round valued the company at around $400 million, a person close to the development told ET.

The firm will use the funds to add engineering talent to help accelerate its AI innovations such KaneAI, its quality assurance (QA) automation agent-as-a-service and AI native HyperExecute platform, and scale its existing product and technology.

“With this funding, LambdaTest plans to advance KaneAI, launching AI Native QA Agent-as-a-Service to transform software QA with AI-driven insights, scalable test cloud, and advanced HyperExecute automation,” the company said in a statement.

Founded in 2017 by Asad Khan and Jay Singh, LambdaTest allows web developers to test their websites and apps on over 3,000 different combinations of browsers (and their different versions), operating system environments and devices.

The firm, which has around 400 employees in India, the US and the UK, is looking to expand its workforce by 15-20% in the next year.“KaneAI is more than a tool—it’s a transformative approach to QA, empowering teams to test smarter and faster, with less manual effort. Our foundation in LambdaTest’s cloud-based platform gives us an edge in delivering this solution at scale,” said Asad Khan, CEO and co-founder of LambdaTest.

With a year-on-year growth of about 105%, LambdaTest has over 2.3 million developers and testers worldwide, who rely on it to test intelligently, accelerate releases, and ship quality software with confidence and have executed more than 1.2 billion tests till date.

HyperExecute enables teams to run tests up to 70% faster than any cloud grid by running tests intelligently across multiple environments, enabling 2.5x faster test resolution and 60% quicker error detection. The latest platform, KaneAI, can help reduce manual efforts in test script generation, reducing it by 40-70%, the company highlighted.

“Asad & team are a force of nature to be reckoned with — in a short period of time they have disrupted the entire market. From creating the first AI-native, no-code QA solution (KaneAI) to launching the only truly e2e Enterprise grade, secure test orchestration platform (HyperExecute), they have totally changed the game and pulled the rug out from under existing CBT vendors,” said Nishant Rao, founding partner at Avataar.

Previously, LambdaTest has raised nearly $70 million from top investors in previous funding rounds, including Premji Invest, Sequoia Capital India, Titanium Ventures, Leo Capital Holdings, and Blume Ventures.
