Juspay’s Namma Yatri launches in Tumakuru; Know the key details

Namma Yatri (NY), a Bengaluru-based ride-booking app, has expanded its services to Tumakuru. The app, which is a part of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), aims to connect drivers with customers directly.

The company said that it aims to enhance drivers’ earnings while providing safe, affordable, and convenient transportation options to the residents of Tumakuru.

What will be the impact on Tumakuru’s auto culture?

Namma Yatri said that the launch in Tumakuru is unique due to its grassroots support, primarily driven by word-of-mouth within the city’s vibrant auto culture. The company has onboarded over 300 drivers and expects to modernize Tumakuru’s commuting experience and set an example for community-led mobility solutions, it said.

“Drivers want to give good service to customers. With doorstep pickups, it’s super convenient for customers. Customers can also share their feedback through the app which helps drivers to improve. The pricing is fair and complies with government guidelines. With Namma Yatri, drivers can earn more while customers pay less, and everyone reaches their destination faster and safer, making Tumakuru’s commute better for everyone,” said Naveen Kumar, an auto driver at Tumakuru and a community ambassador.

JusPay’s vision for Tumakuru

“The overwhelming response from drivers underscores the app’s value proposition beyond Bengaluru. Our people-first, tech-driven approach enables us to tailor our services to the needs of Tumakuru residents. We are committed to working closely with the Tumakuru community to fully digitize the city’s mobility needs for a hassle-free and cost-effective way of moving around the city,” said Shan M S, Chief Growth Officer at Juspay.
