Following a successful 5G spectrum auction, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that 5G services would be available in most parts of the country within the next 2-3 years. Meanwhile, major circles will begin to roll out 5G services as early as October 12.
The Department of Telecommunications previously announced that 5G internet service will be available in 13 major Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. With the government’s October rollout date, users are now waiting for confirmation from major telecom companies. While Airtel plans to begin in August 2022, Jio did not specify a date but did hint at a’soon’ rollout; and Vi also did not share a rollout date.
