India sets 50% ARPU growth target for BSNL, aims 30% revenue boost


The government has set an aggressive revenue roadmap for state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), asking the telco to boost its average revenue per user (ARPU) by 50% and scale up its enterprise business by 20–30%, sources told CNBC-TV18. The overall revenue growth target has also been pegged between 20–30%.

While no tariff hikes are on the table for now, the Centre has advised BSNL to focus on cost-cutting measures to protect its bottom line. The push is for operating efficiency—where growth in topline must outpace any…
