iFixit teardown shows what’s inside the Apple Watch Series 10

Apple Watch Series 10 comes with a new design. Although it doesn’t look as radical as some people might have expected, the Series 10 design is significantly thinner and features larger displays. And for those curious to see what’s inside the Apple Watch Series 10, iFixit has now shared its traditional teardown video of the new watch.

Apple Watch is certainly an incredible product on the outside and inside. It’s remarkable to see so much technology packed into a small case. However, this design makes the Apple Watch more difficult to disassemble and repair. As shown by iFixit, accessing the internal components still requires heating the display to remove it.

The components are so well fitted that the gap between the glass and the metal is only 0.176 millimeters – which certainly helps to improve the watch’s water resistance. Moreover, the antennas on the Cellular models are now built precisely into the structure of the case.

After removing the display, the first components seen are the Taptic Engine and the 1,266 Wh battery (this is the 46mm version, it’s worth mentioning), which is around the same capacity as in previous generations. Unlike the iPhone, the Apple Watch’s internal battery is attached with a simple adhesive that can be easily removed.

Accessing other components requires removing a lot of small connectors and tiny screws. Interestingly, iFixit has also taken a closer look at the Apple Watch’s OLED display. Although Apple claims that Series 10 has a new panel that can be viewed from more angles, the structure appears to be pretty much the same as before.

The Apple Watch sensors are underneath all the other components, so replacing them is still quite difficult. Although iFixit praises the new slimmer design of the Series 10, the repair company gave it a score of 3 out of 10 in its repairability ranking.

In addition to the new design, Apple Watch Series 10 also features louder speakers and is available in new materials and finishes. It also supports faster charging compared to the Series 9. Prices for the Series 10 start at $399 for the 42mm version.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
