Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages donates electric vehicles to Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) to strengthen door-to-door waste collection infrastructure

Under its flagship community initiative, Project SHINE, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s leading FMCG companies has donated four electric waste collection vehicles to the Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC). In an event held in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh the vehicles were formally handed over to the UMC in the presence of Shri Mukesh Tatwala, Mayor of Ujjain, and Smt. Kalavati Yadav, Chairperson, Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC), along with dignitaries from HCCB and community members.

Serving communities in Tilkeshwar, Krishanpura, Avantika, Municipal Corporation, the deployed EV waste collection vehicles will not only serve ~1200 households in Ujjain but also improve UMC’s door-to-door waste collection efficiency. Through partnerships with local municipalities and governing bodies across India, HCCB continues to invest in sustainable waste management and electric mobility infrastructure. 

As part of Project SHINE, HCCB reaffirms its commitment to empowering communities through its CSR initiative. Project SHINE is built around five key thematic areas: implementing sustainable solutions for environmental protection and disaster management; promoting health and hygiene through WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs; driving inclusive growth by empowering women and enhancing livelihood opportunities; nurturing talent through education and skill development; and enabling communities to shape a brighter and more resilient future.
