GST Council meeting moved to September due to delay in GoM reports

Delay in Group Of Ministers (GoM) reports on online gaming, casinos and GST Appellate Tribunals has pushed the goods and services tax (GST) council meeting to September 2022 now.

Because the GoMs have yet to submit their reports, the GST Council is expected to meet at the end of September, according to CNBCTV18, which cited sources in a tweet. The Finance Ministry formed the GoM to review the GST rate for online gaming, casinos, and horse racing, and it was supposed to submit its final report by the second week of August. The GoM met on July 12 to discuss the issue. However, due to the absence of certain members and information at the time, the meeting was unable to reach a decision on the GST rate.
