Google Releases Gemma 3n Open-Source AI Model That Can Run Locally on 2GB RAM

Google has launched the full version of Gemma 3n, its newest open-source AI model in the Gemma 3 family. This model, initially unveiled in May, is specifically engineered for on-device applications and boasts architectural enhancements.

A key feature of Gemma 3n is its ability to run locally on devices with just 2GB of RAM. This low memory requirement enables deployment on smartphones and other devices equipped with AI-enabled processing.

According to a Google developer blog post, Gemma 3n is a multimodal AI model, suggesting capabilities beyond just text processing. This positions Gemma 3n as a powerful tool for developers seeking to integrate AI functionalities directly into mobile and other resource-constrained environments.
