Google Labs has launched an experimental app called Doppl that uses generative AI to help users virtually try on clothes with just a full-body photo. Currently available in the U.S. for iOS and Android, Doppl lets you upload images of outfits—from online stores, screenshots, or even your closet—and creates realistic static images and short animated clips showing how the clothes would look and move on your body. Although it’s still early-stage and can sometimes misalign clothing or add unrealistic AI touches like awkward feet, it’s designed with guardrails to block sensitive content and prevent misuse. By offering dynamic previews, Doppl aims to make online shopping more personal and reduce the guesswork of fit, with Google planning to expand its features and reach based on user feedback.
