Google Launches Accelerator Program to Boost AI Startups in India

Google Unveils ‘AI First’ Accelerator Program to Support Indian AI Startups

Google has launched a new initiative titled Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First, aimed at supporting AI-driven startups in India. This program, in collaboration with the MeitY Startup Hub, will focus on emerging technologies such as Agentic AI and Multimodal AI, which are poised to shape the next phase of artificial intelligence.

The accelerator is open to Indian startups that are Seed to Series A stage and actively building AI products or models. Applications are open until June 30, 2025.

Benefits for selected startups include:

  • Personalized mentorship from Google experts, including teams from DeepMind, Google Health, and Google Cloud.
  • Weekly strategic support to help achieve product, tech, and growth milestones.
  • Free access to Cloud TPUs, Google Cloud credits (for eligible startups), and advanced tools like Gemini and Imagen.
  • Direct collaboration with Google’s AI team to implement cutting-edge AI solutions into products.

The 2025 edition will start with a bootcamp in Bengaluru in September, culminating in a Demo Day in December.

Last year, the program helped participating startups raise over $61 million in funding. Notably, SpotDraft cut its contract management costs by 80% using Google’s Gemini API, and Kroop AI saw a 40% boost in user engagement through enhanced deepfake detection.

If you’re an AI startup in India looking to scale, this could be your next big opportunity—apply before the June 30 deadline!

The number of Indian startups entering famed US accelerator and investor Y Combinator’s startup programme might have dwindled to just one in 2025, down from the high of 2021, when 64 were selected. In 2025, Indian investors have invested in close to 10 Y Combinator (YC) AI startups in the US. These include Tesora AI, CodeAnt, Alter AI and Frizzle, all with Indian-origin founders but based in… Source link
