At Google I/O Connect, Google unveiled a suite of AI and geospatial tools aimed at Indian developers. Key among these is the introduction of Gemini 2.5 Flash, Google’s generative AI model, accessible through local Indian data centers, promising faster processing.
Expanding geospatial capabilities, Google is integrating Google Maps data with Vertex AI, enhancing grounding accuracy. Developers in India will also benefit from AI-powered summaries within the Places API, offering concise location insights.
To make these tools more accessible, Google is introducing tailored India-specific pricing for its Maps Places UI Kit, lowering the barrier to entry for Indian developers leveraging mapping functionalities in their applications. These updates underscore Google’s commitment to empowering India’s developer ecosystem with cutting-edge AI and geospatial technologies.
