Google files for modification in SC before switching to NCLAT

The tech giant has now submitted a modification application in the Android antitrust case, a few days after the Supreme Court issued its decision in Google’s favour.

The plea, which was submitted on Wednesday (January 25), stated that Google’s offer was not fully documented by the SC. The petition asked for the Google attorney’s submissions to be changed and emphasised that it did not include the full ‘offer’ the tech giant made regarding the partial compliance with the Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) rules. The modification plea noted that the judgement does not reflect the partial compliance offer made by Google in the Android matter with respect to CCI’s ten directions, specifically in paras 617.1, 617.2, and 617.4, which should be stayed.
