Google announced on Friday that it has filed an appeal against the Indian antitrust body’s order against the company for alleged anti-competitive practises in the key overseas market involving Android mobile devices.
The company has approached the nation’s appellate tribunal, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), to appeal the Competition Commission of India’s October order, in which the watchdog fined Google $162 million. “We have decided to appeal the CCI’s decision on Android because we believe it represents a significant setback for our Indian users and businesses who rely on Android’s security features, as well as potentially raising the cost of mobile devices,” said a Google spokesperson in a statement.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it.
