Google Cloud gives Rs 1.7 crore to LPU student for his startup

Rounak Adhikary, a student at Lovely Professional University, has made a big step forward with his project, ‘ProjectX.Cloud.’ Google Cloud has given him $200,000 (about Rs 1.70 crore) for his project, which is about making a special computer system that works in the cloud and doesn’t depend much on physical devices.

Early support for the project

ProjectX.Cloud started getting attention and support early on. It got Rs 10 lakh from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Also, it received awards and extra money over Rs 50 lakh from the Microsoft Founder’s Programme and AWS Activate Founder’s Programme.

Fundraising plans 

Adhikary said that he is looking to raise $3 million (around Rs 24 crore) to grow his project. He says, “ProjectX.Cloud is dedicated to revolutionizing device functionality by reducing dependency on hardware.”

Notably, His project is now part of the Launchpad accelerator at IIM Bangalore. Big investment firms like IFC World Bank, Elevation Capital, Campus Fund, and Kalaari Capital are also interested in it.
