Content-to-commerce platform The Good Glamm Group has entered into a joint venture with former tennis player turned entrepreneur Serena Williams to launch her beauty brand ‘Wyn Beauty by Serena Williams’ in the US market.

WYN aims to be inclusive in terms of skin tones, and thus, will offer makeup products 91 shades across 10 distinct product ranges in the face, lips and eyes categories, the brand said in a statement.

Williams said, “As I evolved and remained active both on and off the court, I needed products I could apply at 7 am before a full day of meetings, spending time with my kids, making time for the things I love and still look good at the end of the day. I needed makeup that could truly move with me. That’s the intention behind WYN  BEAUTY – for people to live in it every single day of their lives and enhance the beauty they  already have.”

Good Glamm’s founder Darpan Sanghvi said, “It’s a privilege to partner and enter into this joint venture with Serena, and work with her  to bring life to her vision of WYN BEAUTY and create products that truly deliver high  performance, synonymous with what she stands for.”

Last year, actor Akshay Kumar also joined hands with Good Glamm to launch a men’s personal care brand. It also roped in Dia Mirza as an investor of BabyChakra.

Good Glamm Group was launched in 2021 when three brands MyGlamm, POPxo and BabyChakra merged.

The D2C brand MyGlamm was launched by Sanghvi in 2017, while Priyanka Gill founded digital media platform POPxo in 2013, and Naiyya Saggi founded online parenting startup BabyChakra in 2015.

Since then, The Good Glamm Group has acquired almost a dozen brands, including ScoopWhoop, Organic Harvest, and Sirona.

Recently Inc42’s sources in the group informed that it is in final stages of talks to close a $70 Mn funding in Series E round, as it gears up for its initial public offering (IPO) next year. The round is expected to see participation from the existing investors with some new investors joining in. With this, the group is likely to close the round at a valuation of $1.2 Bn, same as its last funding round.
