US-based automotive manufacturing company General Motors, recalled over 6,000 SUVs due to a possible third-row seat belt issue.
According to local reports, General Motors stated that the rivets that hold the buckle to the mounting bracket on the left and right side third-row seats may have been faulty, and that the incorrect belts may not have restrained passengers in an accident. The company stated that it would inspect the rivets and, if necessary, replace the buckles. Cadillac’s Escalade and Escalade ESV SUV models, Chevrolet’s Suburban and Tahoe, and GMC’s Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles from 2021 and 2022 were among those recalled.
