Gaming companies on Tuesday appeared before the Supreme Court, seeking an early hearing of their pleas challenging the constitutionality of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which bans real-money online gaming.
The companies told the court that the law has forced them to shut down operations and lay off employees, effectively bringing the industry to a standstill. The Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing for November 4.
