There are 1,61,150 startups recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). These startups have generated over 17.69 lakh direct jobs, with IT, healthcare and F&B sectors leading the charts.

In the past five years, the government has disbursed Rs 18,633 crore through SIDBI’s Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) to Alternative Investment Funds, with Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Delhi emerging as the top beneficiaries.
