India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has provisionally allocated spectrum to Elon Musk’s Starlink, paving the way for non-commercial trial runs of its satellite broadband service, Moneycontrol reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The DoT issued a Unified License (UL) to Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited after the US-based firm accepted the stipulated terms and conditions, including security requirements that apply uniformly to all satellite communication players.
