Electronic Arts (EA) is undergoing a significant restructuring, laying off between 300 and 400 employees, including approximately 100 at its Respawn Entertainment subsidiary. The company is also cancelling a Titanfall game currently in development at Respawn.
According to an EA spokesperson, Justin Higgs, these changes are aimed at aligning teams and resources to drive future growth and focusing on long-term strategic priorities. The restructuring reflects a shift in EA’s approach to resource allocation, potentially indicating a change in development focus or strategic direction. The cancelled Titanfall project suggests EA might be prioritizing other titles or franchises within its portfolio.
