Digital lending companies meet MeitY over apps ban

Several digital lending apps affected by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) unexpected ban met with ministry officials on Wednesday (February 8) to discuss the issue.

According to a Mint report, MeitY officials met with around 15 major digital lending companies in Delhi yesterday. Companies were given 30-minute time slots to make individual representations, as well as group representations. According to the publication, digital lending companies at the meeting were strictly forbidden from sharing details outside of the meeting room. According to a fintech founder cited by Mint, Google received a list from MeitY but has yet to act on it.
