Delhi man claims employer didn’t pay 4 months’ salary, shares WhatsApp chat as proof

A Delhi-based graphic designer shared his struggle of not being paid for four months in a social media post that has since gone viral.

Lucky Siddiqui found himself in a tough spot after his employer, VMS Pvt Ltd, allegedly failed to pay his salary for four consecutive months. Frustrated and seeking help, he shared his ordeal in a now-viral LinkedIn post, asking for guidance on how to handle the situation.

“I usually don’t post about personal challenges, but I feel this needs to be addressed, and I could use some advice,” Lucky wrote.

He explained that despite meeting all the expectations at work, his repeated attempts to resolve the payment issue internally went unanswered.

“I worked with VMS PVT LTD as a Graphic Designer, and despite fulfilling all my responsibilities and meeting expectations, I haven’t received my salary for four months. I’ve tried multiple times to resolve this through internal communication, but unfortunately, the issue remains unresolved,” Lucky said.

He added, “As professionals, we rely on timely payment to support ourselves and our families. It’s disheartening to face such a situation, especially after dedicating so much effort and time to a company.”

He further shared screenshots of his conversation with one of his bosses at work, apparently. In the screenshots, the boss asks him not to call, or he will block Lucky.

“I’m sharing this to seek advice from this community – how should one handle such situations? Are there legal or professional steps I can take to ensure my dues are cleared? I hope no one else has to go through this experience. Please feel free to share your thoughts or suggestions,” Lucky concluded his post.

Take a look at the post here:

Lucky’s post resonated with several users as they flooded the comments section with advice and support.

One user offered a detailed legal route, explaining, “As per labour law, if an employer fails to pay salary on time, they must pay up to Rs 750 per day as a penalty. You can file a complaint in labour court, and within three months, you’ll receive your dues along with compensation. If not, the employer could face up to two years in prison.”

Another user suggested a more systematic approach: “Start by emailing HR and cc’ing your team leader and supervisor. WhatsApp messages won’t count as evidence. Also, include the company’s website in your post so it appears when someone searches for them on LinkedIn.”

One of the users even mapped out step-by-step actions.

Lucky Siddiqui’s post has triggered a larger conversation about employee rights and workplace accountability. Whether his employer responds remains to be seen, but his story has certainly resonated with several users who’ve faced similar challenges.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
