D2C fruits and vegetables brand Pluckk raised an undisclosed amount from Kareena Kapoor Khan

D2C fruits and vegetables brand Pluckk has successfully secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, according to a tweet by Twitter. The startup has also welcomed Kapoor Khan as its brand ambassador, marking a significant boost to its profile.

Pluckk Rapid Rise in the D2C Market

Founded in 2021 by Prateek Gupta, Pluckk has swiftly gained prominence by offering a diverse range of over 400 products across more than 15 categories, including essentials, exotics, hydroponics, and cuts/mixes. Although currently operating in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pune, the startup has ambitious plans to expand its reach to additional geographies in the upcoming quarters.

A Multifaceted Sales Approach

Pluckk not only operates through its dedicated consumer-focused app but also strategically partners with various marketplaces and quick commerce platforms. These platforms include Amazon, Swiggy, Dunzo, Zepto, and Reliance Signature Stores, enabling the brand to effectively reach its customers. The startup’s impressive sales performance is underscored by its claim of selling over 1 million products in the last quarter alone.

Pluckk Vision and Recent Achievements

Prateek Gupta, Founder of Pluckk, articulated the company’s ambitious vision for expansion, stating, “Our vision is to build a pan India fresh food brand dedicated to servicing the needs of Indian families and homes with our network of over 1,000 farmers.” Earlier this year, Pluckk secured $5 million in seed funding from Exponentia Ventures, a significant milestone that facilitated various developmental aspects, from team building to farm-to-fork infrastructure creation.

Trend of Celebrities Supporting D2C Brands

The trend of Bollywood actors endorsing and investing in D2C brands has gained significant traction within the Indian startup ecosystem. Kapoor Khan’s backing of Pluckk follows similar instances where actors like Samantha Ruth Prabhu invested in D2C superfoods brand Nourish You and Akshay Kumar, along with Virender Sehwag, invested in Two Brothers Organic Farm. This trend highlights the growing influence of celebrities in propelling the growth of innovative startups, reinforcing the symbiotic relationship between the entertainment industry and the entrepreneurial landscape.
