CES 2025 | Honda unveils new electric vehicles, new OS

Carmaker Honda made waves at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 by unveiling its latest electric vehicles (EVs) and a new operating system for its robotics and autonomous systems. This signals the company’s push into the future of mobility and artificial intelligence.

The Japanese automaker introduced two new EVs under its “Zero” lineup — a sleek saloon and an SUV. Both vehicles are designed to embody Honda’s vision of sustainable and connected mobility.

The Zero Saloon boasts an aerodynamic design with a focus on luxury and efficiency, while the SUV combines rugged looks with family-friendly practicality. Both models are powered by Honda’s next-generation solid-state battery technology, promising faster charging and an extended range of over 400 miles on a single charge.

A key highlight of the launch was the debut of Honda’s ASIMO OS, an artificial intelligence-powered operating system designed for seamless integration across multiple platforms, including vehicles, robotics, and smart devices. Named after Honda’s iconic humanoid robot, ASIMO OS aims to enhance user experience through advanced AI capabilities, such as predictive navigation, personalised in-car settings, and real-time communication with other smart devices.

Takahiro Hachigo, Honda’s CEO, said, “With the Zero lineup and ASIMO OS, we are redefining the future of mobility and connectivity. These advancements represent Honda’s dedication to sustainable technology and improving everyday life for our customers.”

Honda’s move comes amidst fierce competition in the EV market, with rivals like Tesla, Rivian, and traditional automakers also unveiling cutting-edge electric models.
