The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued notices to Flipkart and Meesho for selling corrosive acids on their websites.
Concerned about the ease of access to such acids on the platforms, the CCPA directed them to submit detailed responses within seven days. Flipkart and Meesho must respond in detail within seven days. The development comes just two days after an acid attack on a 17-year-old Delhi school student. The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued notices to Flipkart and Amazon on Thursday for selling corrosive acids on their platforms.
