Azhar Sajan Champions Emerging Talent with Casa Milano’s Talking Walls at Dubai Design Week 2025

Casa Milano returns to Dubai Design Week 2025 with the third edition of its pioneering initiative, Talking Walls, a platform dedicated to celebrating and empowering emerging designers. This year, six young designers are each provided a 12-square-metre space at Dubai Design District (d3) to reimagine modern spaces and push the boundaries of luxury design, transforming the 300 sq.m. installation into an interactive showcase of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

Talking Walls: Redefining Design Collaboration

Launched in 2023, Talking Walls gives each of the six participants a dedicated 12-square-metre area to create a fully immersive, functional, and artistic environment, often reinterpreting the modern bathroom in bold and unexpected ways. What began as a creative experiment has evolved into one of Dubai Design Week’s most anticipated highlights, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and dialogue between emerging talent and established design firms such as KCA International, MMAC Design Associates, and Interspace.

The initiative culminates in a high-profile awards ceremony at d3, recognizing outstanding creativity and awarding winners with an all-expenses-paid design trip to Italy, the global heart of design excellence.

“Talking Walls was born from a simple idea: to give young designers a platform where their voice and vision can be seen, heard, and celebrated,” says Azhar Sajan, Founder of Casa Milano. “Watching participants transform their 12-square-metre spaces into something extraordinary, blending creativity with function and storytelling, is inspiring. Each installation reflects not just talent, but imagination, ambition, and courage.”

Azhar Sajan: Leading Casa Milano with Vision

Through Talking Walls, Azhar Sajan is rewriting the rules of design collaboration. Since entering the industry in 2019, he has positioned Casa Milano as one of the GCC’s most admired design brands, offering bespoke luxury solutions across bathrooms, tiles, sanitaryware, wardrobes, and ironmongery. With six operational showrooms and two more opening this year, the brand combines creative vision with strategic growth.

“Luxury isn’t just about creating beautiful spaces,” says Azhar. “It’s about creating opportunities and providing people the freedom to imagine, to grow, and to inspire others.”

Casa Milano: More Than a Brand

Under Azhar’s leadership, Casa Milano has evolved into a movement celebrating collaboration, innovation, and community. Initiatives such as Talking Walls and Design Duels, UAE’s largest multi-sport tournament for the design industry, continue to connect and empower the creative community, establishing Casa Milano as a platform of possibility that shapes the region’s design identity.

Designing the Future of Design

With Talking Walls, Casa Milano stands out at Dubai Design Week 2025 not merely as a participant, but as a pioneer of creativity. Azhar Sajan isn’t just shaping beautiful spaces, he is shaping the future of design itself.

Long before Edgar Wright’s The Running Man hits theaters this week, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz had been thinking about making it. He read the original 1982 novel by Stephen King (under his pseudonym Richard Bachman) as a boy and excitedly went to theaters in 1987 to see the film version, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright enjoyed the adaptation but was a little let down by just how different it was from the novel. Years later, after he’d become a successful… Source link
