Australia to ban social media for children under 16 from December 10

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced on Monday, November 10, that a social media ban for children under 16 will come into effect on December 10. 

Albanese called the law, first introduced in November 2024, a “world-leading social media law” that would protect childhood and empower parents as well.
